In beautiful Lake County you will find the charming village of Grayslake, Illinois. Grayslake is part of the Chicago Metropolitan Area and boasts a great location just forty miles north of Downtown Chicago, fifteen miles south of the Wisconsin border, and fourteen miles west of Lake Michigan. Home to approximately 21,000 residents, Grayslake is home to the Lake County Fairgrounds, the College of Lake County and the University Center of Lake County. Grayslake is primarily in the boundaries of Avon Township, with a small part of the village falling in Fremont Township. Within this wonderful village you’ll find the glistening waters of Grays Lake, which is bounded by Alleghany Road, Harvey Avenue, Lake Street and Route 120 as it rests in the center of the village. Grayslake residents enjoy having a Metra station and easy access to major thoroughfares making commuting and travel easy. Major streets in the village include U.S. Route 45, State Routes 83, 120 and 137.
